Small Equipment Helper, Trim Setter (3 positions) - SIFCO Forge, Cleveland

SIFCO Forge, a Cleveland, OH supplier of performance-critical forgings and services to the Aerospace and Energy markets, has an opening for an hourly Trim Setter and a Small Equipment Helper.


The Press and Set up Helper sets up dies in hydraulic presses and other forging machines, making adjustments to allow normal operation of equipment during the forging process. Removes used dies from forging machines by unscrewing bolts and cleans dirt from bed. Selects proper dies and mounts them in machines by hand or hoist. Adjusts stroke lengths and operates machines to forge trail pieces, inspects them, makes adjustments as needed and turns the machines over to the operators.


  • Sets up forging machines with proper dies and makes adjustments during the forging process.
  • Removes dies and prepares machines for new dies, forges trail pieces, inspects them and makes adjustments accordingly.
  • Responsible for knowledge of mechanical systems and hydraulic operation of hammers.
  • Knowledgeable experience in trimmer dies and measurements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous forging and trim setting experience a strong plus.
