Stock Saw Operator - Orange CA

General Summary

Cuts all raw material for use in production, prepares stock for sending to outside ultrasonic, keeps track of all incoming and outgoing material paperwork.

Major Duties and Responsibilities Include: (But not limited to the following)

  • Inspects all receiving raw material by comparing to purchase order and material certification.
  • Inspects material surface for damage.
  • Unloads material with forklift and stores in control area.
  • Helps input received raw material data into system.
  • Helps in identifying raw material with steel stamp code number and color code on each end of bar.
  • Helps in cutting 1” pieces from each lot number for chemical analysis test.
  • Maintains saw in good working condition including managing blades and coolant as well as keeping work area clean.
  • Performs minor corrections on saw, if cannot correct must lock/tag-out machine and report to lead.
  • Responsible for reading Work Order, cut slip, notes, and cutting order to specifications.
  • Moves raw material for cutting production, or when needed to perform another task.
  • Prepares or moves orders in large metal tubs, and wire baskets when needed.
  • Responsible for putting aluminum chip in scraps container.
  • Responsible for moving raw material to chop saw for cutting Work Order production.
  • Responsible for cutting quantity, completing cut slip and Work Order operation after completing.
  • May be used to train other employees on operating saws in the future
  • Responsible for setting up Saws and counting parts off of Saw
  • Must contribute to a positive working environment
  • Responsible for F-3 movement in the system.
  • Support and maintain Quality Policy and 5 “S” standard.
  • Ability to pass chop saw training.
  • Basic reading and writing for certification documents, logbooks, cut slip, notes, and Work Order specifications.
  • Understanding of basic mathematics.
  • Ability to count and input basic information in system.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Ability to set up saw for operation

Qualifications and Abilities

Experience and Education

  • High School Education preferred but not required
  • Ability to read and write in English preferred

  • Employee frequently is required to stand, walk and drive forklift.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/ or
  • move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision and ability to adjust focus as well as see colors red, green, and yellow
